CSD College (formerly CSD Academy / CSD Interior Design & Art Training Academy) is an award-winning design college in Kuala Lumpur, built for students who want more than textbooks — students who want real skills, real portfolios, and real careers.

We are proud to be the first college in Kuala Lumpur to offer a Dual Certification Programme, taught in both Chinese and English, making learning accessible, practical, and industry-ready from day one.

Founded in 2009, CSD College has over 17 years of experience turning passion into profession. Our programmes are officially recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources and supported by international partners such as Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), GULL University (USA), and Warnborough College (UK) — giving students qualifications that are respected locally and internationally.

At CSD College, we believe design starts with life — how people live, move, feel, and interact with spaces and visuals. That’s why our students don’t just learn theory; they design, create, experiment, and build portfolios that prepare them for the real world.

Our Team

Dr. Rena Liu

Founder and Principal

Dr. Rena Liu is the founder of CSD College, with over 30 years of experience in the interior design industry. She holds a Professional Doctorate and is a certified vocational training lecturer and designated inspector recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources (JPK).

She has assessed institutions such as LimKokWing University, MTTC College, and IDA College, upholding the quality of vocational education in Malaysia.

Previously serving as Chief Interior Designer, she also founded a successful interior design firm and operated a full-service furniture factory. Her expertise spans structural detailing, design consultation, and project management.

Driven by a passion for nurturing talent, she founded CSD College to empower aspiring designers. Her journey is a true inspiration—showing that with the right support, anyone can rise from zero to hero.

Jimmy Nam

Interior Design

Course Director

With over 15 years of industry experience, he brings a strong foundation in interior design, having served as Chief Interior Designer at a reputable firm. His expertise spans structural detailing, computer graphics, and AI-based design software, blending creativity with technology.

He has worked on major projects across Malaysia, including Genting Highlands, KLIA, and Star World Casino, and is now part of the academic team at CSD College, where he mentors future designers with real-world, industry-driven insight.

Elaine Yap

Graphic Media Design

Course Director

A Dean’s Honour List achiever with professional experience as a Graphic Media Designer, she has worked on branding and advertising projects for companies such as Young Yans and Natural Treatment, and experience in engagements with companies of Top Glove, KCC Paints, and Precision Control.

Specializing in graphic design, social media, digital marketing, copywriting, and computer graphics software, she brings a strong, industry-relevant skillset to the classroom and is dedicated to helping students transform creativity into real career opportunities.

Bryan Tang

Landscape Architecture

Course Director

With over 10 years of industry experience, he has a strong foundation in landscape architecture, specializing in master planning, urban design, sustainable landscape strategies, and planting design.

His portfolio includes major projects such as TRX Public Realm by TRXC, TRX Streetscape & Jalan Gading by TRXC and DBKL, Cove Residence Melaka by Keb Group, Gamuda Iconic Office (Gamuda Cove by Gamuda), Sime Darby SJCC East Development, etc. An international and national award winner (IFLA Asia Pacific, IFLA APPME, ILAM, AILA). He is now part of CSD College, where he guides students with real-world, industry-driven insight.
